Answers:
( Josias Guillermo )
• As a future teacher, I will be a knower, writer, planner, initiator, innovator, implementer, and evaluator. As a teacher, knowing the curriculum is very important; I have to master the subject matter;take records of concepts; make a lesson plan or daily plan that serve as my guide or blueprint inimplementing the curriculum. The teacher takes consideration several factors in planning a curriculum. These factors include the learners, material, time, content, and desired learning outcome. In order for thecurriculum implemented, it requires open-mindedness and full belief that it will enhance learning. Creativity and innovation are trademarks of an excellent teacher. I modify my activities to suit the learners. I monitor if my students are learning or not. I need to know the different cultures and traditionsof the learners, their strengths and weaknesses as well as their capabilities. As a curricularist, I takeconsideration in order for the curriculum to be successfully implemented with the help of others.
• The function that is not played by the teacher in the implementation of the new curriculum is being an INNOVATOR. Although some teachers are already exposed in technologies, there are some teachers who are still on the use of traditional technologies. Some reasons are being afraid to destroy the given technology and another one is they don’t know how to use the given technology. I believe that teachers must be awaken because using technologies gives a more practical and more advance learning that every student can get. Innovations can lead to the improvement of each and everyone of us and that can make nations be filled with SUCCESS.
My Individual Reflection
( Lester Capudoy )
• The administration will usually call for a quick meeting to disseminate the new curriculum and hand out the hand copies. Then after, from time to time, they usually gauge the implementation through interviews with teachers and students plus discussions but challenges are there as to the initial hiccups of implementation as some teachers (old school of thought) are very rigid with the older curriculum and prefer to adhere to it. These group of teachers who are not able to accept change can pose as an obstacle to implement documented policies. Hence, the administrators find this a challenge in the long one.
• The goal of the new curriculum is to give Filipino students enough time to master skill and concepts so that they are ready for tertiary education when the time comes.
My Individual Reflection
( Kathlene Joyce Salvador )
• For me being a curricuralist is very challenging because you need to be aware of everything, how to be a planner, writer, knower, initiator, innovator, implanter and evaluator. And I think all of this is not easy because not all curricularist possess this two words "passion" and "love" for teaching. And I believed if you really love what you were doing and have a passion in it and have "Faith" in yourself you will succeed.
• Maybe some teachers have lack of knowledge about the curriculum and surprised for the implementation of the new curriculum and I think the function that is not played for that situation that I've mention to be a "knower" because they dont master the new curriculum.
My Individual Reflection
( Alma Ubiña )
• As a future educator/curricularist, I percieve the role as a curricularist by involving myself in regards with a good example to them and a good teacher/ curricularist. I will explore things that can help students to attain learnings because I know that a curricularist must lead the students so that they can show or do things by themselves. And through the interactions of a teacher and student it is were to build in or one of the foundation of a good teaching in the learning process.
• The goal of the new curriculum is to give every students enough time to master skills and concepts so that they are ready for tertiary education when time comes. The function that were not played by the teacher is "INNOVATOR " because they are not considering how to use technology in the class, they are still using traditional like the old chart, manila paper, chalkboard etc. Now a days the students should expose to the technology like computer because it helps them a lot. Teacher need to change the traditional teaching to a modernize teaching process. By using teachnology like the PowerPoint presentation, movies, and many more. This is how a teacher also to change her strategy in teaching so that students doesn't feel bored. Teacher should be innovator, to do something new in the class, this will help students to extract ideas and thoughts. As an innovator you should be prepared and skilled in the teaching process because a good teacher therefore innovates the curriculum.
